Having started out as a classical pianist with a penchant for building his own computers and synthesisers, Andrew Melchior is renowned for his experiments in digital media, for artists including Massive Attack and Björk. Recent work includes remastering Massive Attack’s classic Mezzanine album into DNA, producing Björk’s first VR album and writing Isaac Asimov’s Foundation book trilogy into 5D crystal storage for Elon Musk’s recent SpaceX launch. Melchior also acted as Technical Advisor to Björk for work featured in Björk Digital and her forthcoming VR album. Björk and her collaborators are widely seen to be at the cutting edge of digital experimentation in music.
