After cross-training into VFX, Gary Jones joined Foundry as a Technical Author around Katana 1.0 and wrote the first User Guide and Reference Guide. From there, he went out into the world of VFX, initially freelancing and then joining MPC in 2015 as a Katana Lighting TD. During his time in the company, Gary worked on a number of films including: The Jungle Book, Passengers, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Transformers: The Last Knight, Ghostbusters and The Lion King.
In 2018, he rejoined Foundry initially as a Katana Product Specialist. Now as the Katana Associate Product Manager for Katana, he's helping to shape the next set of artist friendly Lighting and Look Development tools.
